CASTRO

The great historical value of the city of Castro is portrayed through its historic center, its beautiful architecture from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, its great documentary file and also  through the pieces exhibited in museums and art exhibitions houses. One of its main attractions is the Memorial of the Dutch Immigration - Mill - (Castrolanda Cologne), which was built in 2001 celebrating 50 years of the Dutch immigrants arrival and which is considered the largest mill in Latin America. Another attraction of the city is the house of Sinhara, a place that portrays woman’s life at the time of “tropeirismo” in Castro, giving the visitor a true idea of that time. There is also the Tropeiro Museum located in the city's oldest house, which was created with the aim of rescuing and preserving the memory of “tropeirismo” and the economic cycle of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is considered the most important of its kind in the country.

 

IRATI

Irati’s region has a lot of places where nature predominates and shows all its beauty. From the urban area to the farthest natural corners, there are countless waterfalls that delight the eyes of those who visit them. The image of Nossa Senhora das Graças that is 22 meters high, considered the highest in the world and  also one of the main attractions of the city. It was erected in 1957, from 70 pieces carved by Ottaviano Papaiz, an artist of Campinas, São Paulo. Irati from the urban area to its interior has exuberant landscapes.

 

GUARAPUAVA

The city is located in the region called south-central of the state of Paraná, on the third plateau, also called the Plateau Guarapuava. Its location is privileged, as it is in the center of the state. Guarapuava is one of the coldest cities of Paraná, due to its altitude of over 1,100 meters, the mean maximum in January is only 26.9°C and in July, the minimum average is  8.5ºC. One of the main attractions of the city is the Lagoa das Lágrimas, natural formation found in the central area of the city and is now used as a leisure square, with pedal boats and jogging track.

 

CASCAVEL

Cascavel is a west coast Brazilian city, which has approximately  300,000 citizens and plays an important role in the Mercosul. The city is considered a university center with about 21,000 students in the 3rd grade. Cascavel is eminently a commercial city that seems modern. One of its main attractions is Nossa Senhora Aparecida Cathedral, Patroness of the City, which bears the name of the architect Gustavo Gama Monteiro and whose interior has works of the sculptor Dirceu Rosa. The fan shape of the church is intended to represent Nossa Senhora Aparecida’s mantle and crown. The roof slab is formed by 18 concrete pleated buds fixed to 18 columns. The bottom of the altar is adorned by a golden panel with sculptures of the Last Supper and Jesus Christ Crucified. In the Cathedral Square is the monument in honor of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, which was inaugurated in 1994.
